Privacy Policy

What WebSourceLab collects, why, who we share it with and your choices.

Last updated: 5 November 2026

This policy explains what personal information WebSourceLab collects when you visit websourcelab.com, why we collect it, who we share it with and the choices you have. We keep it short because we collect very little.

Who we are

WebSourceLab (“we”, “us”) is an independent software review publication run by Modasser Jasim from Dhaka, Bangladesh. For any privacy question or request, email hello@websourcelab.com or use our contact page.

Information we collect

When you simply read the site

Like almost every website, our web server and security tools receive technical information with each request: your IP address, browser type, device, the page you asked for, the page that referred you and the time of the visit. We use it to deliver pages, keep the site secure, block spam and abuse, and fix errors. Server logs are kept for a limited period and then deleted.

We host our fonts ourselves and don’t load Google Fonts or other third-party font services. At the time of writing we don’t run advertising trackers or third-party analytics on this site. If we add an analytics tool, we’ll update this page first and, where the law requires it, ask for your consent.

When you click a gold button or a /go/ link

Affiliate links pass through a redirect on websourcelab.com before sending you to the vendor. Our link manager may record that the link was clicked (the link, the page it was on, the time and technical data such as your IP address) so we can count clicks. Once you reach the vendor’s website, its own privacy policy and cookies apply, including any cookie it uses to credit the referral to us.

When you contact us

If you use the contact form or email us, we receive your name, email address, the topic you chose and your message. We use them only to reply to you and to handle your request. To stop spam, the form uses a hidden field, a minimum fill time and a rate limit based on a one-way hash of your IP address; we don’t store your IP address with your message.

When you subscribe to our newsletter

If you sign up for our email updates, your email address is sent to our email service provider, Brevo, which stores it and sends the emails on our behalf. To stop spam sign-ups, the form runs Cloudflare Turnstile, a privacy-focused check that looks at your browser when you start typing your email; it does not set advertising cookies. Every email has an unsubscribe link, and you can ask us to delete your address at any time.

When you leave a comment

If you comment on an article, we store your name, email address, website (if given), your comment, your IP address and browser user agent to help detect spam. Your email address is never published. If you choose to, your browser can save your name and email in a cookie so you don’t have to type them again.

Cookies

We don’t use advertising or tracking cookies. WordPress sets a small number of functional cookies: for commenters who ask to be remembered, and for site administrators who log in. Vendors you visit through our links set their own cookies on their own websites.

Why we process your information

  • To run and secure the website, based on our legitimate interest in keeping the site available and safe.
  • To answer your messages, based on your request.
  • To send newsletters, based on your consent, which you can withdraw at any time.
  • To publish and moderate comments, based on your request to comment.

Who we share it with

We don’t sell or rent personal information. We share it only with service providers that help us run the site (web hosting and security, email delivery and our newsletter provider), under their own data protection terms, and with authorities when the law requires it.

How long we keep it

  • Contact messages: up to 24 months after our last reply, then deleted.
  • Newsletter subscriptions: until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete them.
  • Comments: for as long as the article is online, unless you ask us to remove them.
  • Server and security logs: for a short period needed for security, then deleted.

International transfers

WebSourceLab is run from Bangladesh, and our service providers may store data in other countries, including the United States and the European Union. Where we use providers outside your country, we rely on their contractual and security commitments to protect your information.

Your rights

Depending on where you live (for example, the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or California), you may have the right to access, correct, delete or export your personal information, to object to or restrict how we use it, and to withdraw consent. Email hello@websourcelab.com and we’ll respond within 30 days. You can also complain to your local data protection authority.

Children

WebSourceLab is written for business readers and isn’t directed at children under 16. We don’t knowingly collect information from children.

Changes to this policy

If we change how we handle personal information, we’ll update this page and the date at the top before the change takes effect.
