How we test
Every tool in a category runs the same standard job, so the scores compare like with like.
CRM & SALES
Standard job
Import 500 contacts, build a 3-stage pipeline, connect a booking calendar, send a 3-email follow-up.
EMAIL MARKETING
Standard job
Import a list, build a 5-email welcome sequence with tags, check inbox placement.
FUNNELS & BUILDERS
Standard job
Build an opt-in page, thank-you page and checkout; measure page speed on mobile.
AI TOOLS
Standard job
The same 4 real tasks (a blog outline, a product image, a short video, a keyword list) scored for usable output.
DESIGN & PRODUCTIVITY
Standard job
Run one real client project start to finish: brief, tasks, files, handover.
| What we score | How we measure it | Weight |
|---|---|---|
| Ease of setup | Minutes to finish the standard job, first try | 30% |
| Features | What we needed and couldn’t do without a workaround | 35% |
| Value at renewal | Year-two price for a standard small team | 25% |
| Support | Reply time and quality on the same 3 questions | 10% |
Re-checks: prices and plans monthly, a full re-test after a major product update. Each page shows “Last updated” and “Prices checked”.
Research-based pages vs tested reviews
Not every page on WebSourceLab comes from a completed standard job. Comparisons, alternatives lists and pricing guides are built from each vendor’s official pricing pages, plan tables and help documentation, checked on the date shown at the top of the page. Those pages say how they were researched and don’t carry a score.
A score out of 10 only appears on a review after the tool has run the standard job for its category, using the weights above. If a vendor changes its plans, we re-check prices and update the “Prices checked” date; after a major product update we re-run the job before keeping the score.
Prices and currency
WebSourceLab is published from Dhaka, Bangladesh, and covers software sold worldwide. Prices are shown in US dollars as listed on the vendor’s US pricing page, before tax, unless a page says otherwise. Your price may differ by country, currency, tax or promotion, so always confirm on the vendor’s checkout page.
